In addition to the Call for Works, UNM Iceland opens a Call for Artists-in-Residence, where composers and sound artists are invited to participate in a week-long residency, in Listasmiðjan í Leifshúsum, Svalbarðsströnd, taking place the week before the festival. The residency is built around composer-performers; artists who both compose and perform their own works. Participants will develop new works during the residency, which will be premiered at the festival.

Utöver Call for Works öppnar UNM Island även ett Call for Artists-in-Residence, där tonsättare och ljudkonstnärer bjuds in att delta i en veckolång residensvistelse i Listasmiðjan í Leifshúsum, Svalbarðsströnd, veckan före festivalen. Residenset är uppbyggt kring composer/performers; konstnärer som både komponerar och framför sina egna verk. Deltagarna kommer att utveckla nya verk under residenset, vilka sedan uruppförs under festivalen.
